SELECTBOARD BACKGROUND
The Town of Dixmont has a three-member Selectboard, each with a staggered three year term. A board member is elected/re-elected each year at the annual town meeting.
The Selectboard serve in a part-time capacity as the executive arm of the government, administering, enforcing, and carrying out the decisions made at the town meeting. State laws grant the board some legislative powers as well when it comes to regulating vehicles, public ways, and public property. The Selectboard meets the first and third Tuesday of each month at 6:15 p.m. at the Town Office. The meetings are open to the public. If you would like to be on the agenda to discuss a town issue, please contact Julie Bonin at the Town Office. (Note: if the first Tuesday of the month is an election day, the Select Board will meet the following Thursday, same time, same place)
