Dixmont Historical Society Committee 2023

Looking back over the past sixteen years since 2006, when the Historical Society Committee began the task of renovating the Town House, we are aware that without community interest we could never have accomplished as much as we have thus far.  The Committee would like to again express our sincere thanks for the continued support we have received.

2021 we were able to add a restroom to bring us closer to making the building usable for community events.

2022 we have painted and started to work on finishing the inside of the restroom.  Several committees have started to meet at the Town House now that the restroom can be used. Watch for updates on the Town Office sign, posters, or signs in local stores announcing news and events.

2023 We are finishing the inside of the restroom and adding fixtures and a ramp for the entrance of restroom. We will be working on configuring the inside of the Old Town House so our meeting area is in a corner and we have more space to work on displaying pictures and displays in our collection.

The Dixmont Historical Society contracted with Sprague's Greenhouse to bring beautiful Chrysanthemums to Dixmont for your gardening pleasure again in 2023, Please contact the Town Office for an order form or contact a committee member. Forms can be downloaded from this site as well.

Thank you for Your Continued Support!

Upcoming Events

The Dixmont Historical Society has contracted with Sprague’s Greenhouse to bring beautiful Chrysanthemums to Dixmont again this year. We will have 200 plants available for purchase.

Funds raised the last two years made it possible for us to construct the outdoor restroom facility. This year our goal is to finish the inside of this building by adding paneling. We will also be working on technology upgrades that will facilitate a greater online presence and working on opening the building to community events and exhibits of collections.
